Registration for the Summer Dance Program 2024 is open. Classes will begin on Monday, June 24 and run through August 22.
Programs Available:
`First Steps Camp (for first time ballerinas)
This Camp runs for 4 weeks on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 5:30-6:30
Camp begins on Tuesday, July 8 through Thursday, August 1.
Dancers will explore the world of Ballet through movement, basic ballet steps, improvisation and stories of ballets. They will be introduced to the characters in original ballets, costumes and music.
The camp is open to children age 5-7 with no prior ballet experience.
~Technique Classes/Choreography/Variations Study
These classes concentrate on enhancing a dancer's technique, strengths, artistry and challenges each dancer to reach for new goals. Choreography class allows the dancers to put to use their technique knowledge into practice by choreographing their own piece set on their classmates. Variation study will be added as we move through the program. Dancers will study a ballet chosen by the class and will learn a variation from the ballet. A presentation to parents will be offered at the end of the program.
~These classes are offered to dancers ages 8-18. Classes will be divided by skill and experience.
~Private Training Program
This Program is open to all dancers who are looking to work on specific goals, weaknesses they feel need strengthened, those working toward auditions for upcoming summer intensives, college dance programs or pre pro auditions. This is also a perfect place to work on pre pointe and beginning pointe study. Those dancers working toward these goals will make great progress toward reaching their goal.
The Private Training Program is a very popular program and days/times are reserved quickly. Most classes are 90 minutes to 2 hours 2- 3 days a week which makes days and times very limited. To reserve a private class please call quickly to reserve your spot.
~Adult Programs (Open to ages 18 and up)
Ballet: The class is a true technique class with barre and center work.
Tap: A favorite for most adult dancers. It's a fun, fast paced class that is also a great exercise alternative. We begin at the barre for a warm up then continue to across the floor combinations concentrating on footwork, musicality and rhythms.
Stretch, Strengthening,Core Floor class (Open to everyone 18+)
This is a floor exercise class to relieve stress from the daily grind by stretching the neck muscles, lower back and hips and legs. We work on posture, back flexibility and core muscles to strengthen your entire body. We also add 5 pound weights for those that want an additional challenge. Mats and weights are provided if you don't have your own. This class is the most requested summer class.
The Ballet classes are scheduled on Mondays & Wednesdays from 6:30- 8.
The Tap classes are on Mondays from 5:30-6:30.
The Stretch, Strengthening, Core class is on Thursdays from 5:30-6:30.
