We are taking every precaution to ensure that our dancers have a safe and easy return to the school.
The Guidelines and Procedures to ensure all dancers have a safe environment to train are listed below. On what am I basing these procedures? We will be following the guidelines for "Schools with one to one Education", The Task Force on Dance Health, The DEA (Dance Educators of America), The Allegheny County Health Department and recommendations from the CDC.
1. The School has purchased a new Air Purifier/Cleaner that will be
placed in the studio to filter the air 4 times an hour. It is medical Grade
with Hepa and carbon filters that will trap particles as small as Covid-19. We have also added a MERV 13 filter to our HVAC system to add another layer of filtration for our students.
2. The barres will be disinfected before and after each class.
3. The studio floors will be steam cleaned and disinfected after each class.
4. Only 1 bathroom will be open and will be disinfected after each class.
5. Only 1 entrance will be open. The doors will be cleaned after students enter and exit the building. Dancers will be dismissed one at a time to
their cars. No gatherings in the lobby or student lounge is permitted at
this time. The lobby is closed to visitors.
6. All common use surfaces will be disinfected throughout the day.
7. The school will continue to be thoroughly cleaned weekly as usual,
including the extra disinfecting protocols set in our guidelines.
8. All students are required to wear masks throughout their time in the school.
9. The school will maintain 10 feet of physical distancing while at the
barre and during center work and variations. Extra barres have been added to help dancers become aware of their "personal space." 10 foot squares have been taped on the floor to maintain personal space for center work.
